La Main
LVMH Métiers d’Art, 2024
Paris

La Main, a publication designed for LVMH Metiers d’Art, on the opening of their new Paris headquarters.

LVMH Métiers d’Art represents the heritage of craft, in-depth material knowledge, technical innovation and manufacturing expertise. Their new space is designed to reflect the meeting point of tradition and evolution, craftsmanship and technology.

La Main, the book, serves as a portrait of La Main, the building. Focusing on the subject of the hand, and its importance to craftmanship, the book aims to be a tactile and sensory experience for the reader, through its use of different materials and printing techniques. It has been designed to reflect the tensions noted above, and is directly informed by the contrast of the raw and polished luxury present throughout the space. The bespoke typeface made for the publication was constructed using the forms of the door handle located at the entrance of the site.

Several photographers and artists were invited to respond to the values of the company by creating an artwork for the book. La Main includes work by Simone Bossi, Kitty Callaghan, François Coquerel, Migi Dagoor, Texto Dallas, Bex Day, Guido Dutygorn, Pegah Farahmand, Angelo Flaccavento, Benoit Florençon, Semi Kim, Mathias Kiss, Marc Lechelier, Fabian Marti, Nikki McClarron, Athan Mytilinaois, Simon Schubert, Roman Sellier, DSL Studio and Auréce Vettier.

Created in collaboration with art director Nora Baldenweg and architect Clément Lesnoff-Rocard.
