Assemble Workspace
Assemble, 2019 –
London

Visual identity, signage and way-finding for Assemble Workspace, a studio provider for designers, fabricators and artists in and around London.

The identity was developed through an adaptation of the Plaque Découpée Universelle designed by Joseph A. David in 1876. The PDU, is a singular grid system which was developed to enable sign-writers to construct any letterform — uppercase, lowercase, numbers, punctuation and accents.

The original stencil was redrawn using Helvetica Bold, Assembles logo type. This updated framework enabled the generation of different logo types for each workspace, while retaining a coherent identity.
